Mrs. Olive Tipton Dies
Armstrong – Mrs. Olive Tipton Lytle, 90, a longtime resident of rural Armstrong died at her home at 10:30 Monday morning. Complications of old age was the cause of death. The home in which Mrs. Lytle died was her residence for the past 53 years.Mrs. Lytle was born in Hennepen, Ill. on Sept. 28, 1871, the daughter of John and Marjorie Tipton. Her education was acquired at the rural Cedar and Green county schools.
She was married to George Lyman on Aug. 13, 1892 in Garner and they farmed in Winnebago county for a number of years. In 1898 they moved to Armstrong where they farmed south of town.
Three daughters, Mrs. Nona Linke [Link] of Livermore, Mrs. George Peterson and Mrs. Arnold Flier, both of Armstrong; three grandson and six great-grandchildren survive.
Mrs. Lytle was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist Church in Armstrong. The Rev. Roger Tappmeyer will officiate with burial to be in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Slaba Funeral Home from Tuesday morning until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 20, 1962)
