J. Russell Lytle
J. [Joseph] Russell Lytle, 62, Spirit Lake, died at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday [August 24, 1971] at Holy Family Hospital. He had been ill for the past 18 months.

He was born July 8, 1909, at Gary, S.D., to Mr. and Mrs. John Lytle. He was educated in Gary schools, and the Armstrong schools. He moved to Armstrong at the age of 16, and made his home with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. George Lytle.

On April 21, 1934, he was married to Inez J. Ziemer at Dunnell, Minn. He lived in Armstrong for 31 years and lived in Spirit Lake for the past 6 years.

He was employed by the Iowa Electric Light and Power Co. for 30 years.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge as a Master Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Inez, Spirit Lake; two sons, Duane Lytle, Armstrong and Jack R. Lytle, Willington, Ohio; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Sherbern, Gary, S.D.; Mrs. Patty Massey, Corpus Christi, Tex.; Mrs. Al Forsman, Minneapolis, Minn.; and one brother, George Lytle, Oneida, S.D. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 25, 1971)
