Ervin and Sam Link returned Sunday from Rochester, Minn. where they have been at the bedside of their brother, Ira Link of Thompson, who was taken to the Mayo clinic earlier in the week suffering from an undiagnosed ailment. Mr. Link is in a coma and his condition is very serious. (Algona Upper Des Moines, Algona, IA, June 7, 1951)
Ira Link of Swea City, Dies At Rochester
Swea City – Ira Link, 60, died Friday afternoon at Rochester. He was taken ill three weeks ago and entered Holy Family hospital at Estherville, and was transferred last week to the clinic at Rochester. Cause of death is not diagnosed.Funeral services were held on Monday with a service at the Thompson Methodist church followed by services at the Baptist church, Swea City, by the Rev. Peter Peters, of Swea City. Burial will be in the Armstrong Grove cemetery at Armstrong.
Mr. Link had been in the implement business at Thompson and Swea City for a number of years. He made his home at Thompson. He is survived by his widow, Nona Litle [Lytle] Link, and they had no children.
Brothers and sisters surviving are Roy, Cedar Rapids; Dewey, Sumner; Ervin and Sam, Swea City; Mrs. Merle McAninch, Rolf; Mrs. Ralph Richard, Rolfe, and Lennice, formerly Mrs. Dore Frech, of Algona. A brother Fred died in World War I. The parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Link are both dead. (Kossuth County Advance, Algona, IA, June 12, 1951)

Ira Link, Former Swea City Man, Dies At Rochester
Swea & Eagle – Ervin and Sam Link were at Rochester, Minn. Friday called there by the illness and death of their brother, Ira Link of Thompson. Ira had been a patient at St. Mary’s hospital the past week. Death came Friday [June 8, 1951] afternoon.Ira was 60 years old. He spent his early days here on a farm.
Funeral services were Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Baptist church, Rev. Peter Peters in charge. Burial was in Armstrong Grove cemetery. (Algona Upper Des Moines, Algona, IA, June 14, 1951)
