Longtime Station Agent Dies
Graettinger - B.H. [Blaine Howard] (Barney) Horswell, longtime depot agent at Graettinger and Spirit Lake, died Saturday at his home in Wilmington, Calif., of a heart attack. If friends wish to send cards or memorials, they may write in care of the Riviera Motel, 1011 West Pacific Coast Highway, Wilmington, Calif.Mr. Horswell retired as depot agent in 1956, having served in the Graettinger and Spirit Lake areas. He and his wife were operating the Riviera Motel at the time of his death.
Mr. Horswell is survived by his wife, Gyda, a daughter, Mrs. Russell Peterson of Graettinger, and two sons, Howard of the state of Washington, and Vance, who is in the U.S. Navy. Also surviving are a brother, Garfield Horswell of Armstrong, and some sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 17, 1961)
