Armstrong – Funeral services for Thressa I. [Ingaborg] Larson, 89, of Armstrong will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with Pastor Jack Peterson officiating. Interment will be held at the Armstrong Grove Cemetery in Armstrong. She died on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at Fairmont Community Hospital in Fairmont, Minn.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong.

Thressa was born on March 7, 1912 in DePew, the daughter of Tom and Isabelle (Johnson) Tow. She received her education in the Armstrong schools, graduating from Armstrong High School in 1929.

On April 23, 1933, she was united in marriage to L. Art Larson in Swea City. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Swea City for eleven years. Art then purchased and operated Larson’s Ready Mix and Gas Station in Armstrong for twenty-five years until the couple retired in 1983. Mr. Larson died Feb. 4, 1997.

She enjoyed crocheting and fishing for hobbies.

Thressa was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong and also belonged to the Nazareth Lutheran Women.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Larson of Carroll and Duane Larson and his wife, Pamela of Murrieta, Calif.; one grandson, Scot Larson of Armstrong; two granddaughters, Shawna Larson of Murrieta and Alicia Larson of Monterey, Calif.; three great grandchildren, Heidi, James and John Larson and one sister, Anna Burns of Reno, Nev.

Thressa was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Richard; brothers and sisters, Ed, Ted and Martin Tow, Gertie Pape, Mary Hanson, Obed Tow, Nellie Haack, Olive Welte and John and Thomas Tow. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 22, 2001)
