L. Art Larson
Armstrong – Services for L. Art Larson, 87, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with Pastor Paul Rothfusz officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery at Armstrong. He died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 1997 at his home in Armstrong.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Armstrong.

He was born June 12, 1909 at Badger, the son of Bert and Amelia (Fevold) Larson, and attended school at Badger and Swea City. On April 23, 1933 he married Thressa Tow at Swea City. After their marriage, the couple lived in Swea City for 11 years. He later owned and operated Larson’s Ready Mix and Gas Station in Armstrong for 25 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong.

Survivors include his wife, Thressa of Armstrong; sons: Larry of Fairmont, Minn. and Duane of Murrieta, Calif.; grandchildren: Scott, Shawna and Alicia Larson; three great-grandchildren: Heidi, John and James Larson and one sister, Arlene Knudson, Webster City.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard and four brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 6, 1997)
