Armstrong – Funeral services for Sylvia M. Larson, 63, of rural Armstrong will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with Pastor Jack Peterson officiating. She died on Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 at her farm home in Armstrong.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong.

She was born on July 15, 1937 in Armstrong, the daughter of Theodore and Eldora (Helmich) Plath. She received her education in the rural schools at Armstrong. She was united in marriage to Donald Torgerson.

On March 29, 1974, she was united in marriage to Richard A. Larson at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong. She was employed at Tony Downs Foods in St. James, Minn. and helped Richard with the farming. She was later employed at Van Den Berg’s in Madelia, Minn. for six years.

She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church, LCW and the Martha Circle. She was also a member of the Eagle’s Club in Fairmont, Minn. She enjoyed gardening, mowing her lawn, fishing and dancing.

She is survived by two daughters, Colleen Owens and her husband, Richard of Armstrong and Darla Sell and her special friend, Tony of Armstrong; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 13, 2000)
