Rites to Be Tuesday for Ole Lilland
Ole Lilland, 72, of Estherville died early Sunday [May 31, 1959] morning at his home.He was born Feb. 6, 1887, at Jewell, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Lilland. He received his education in Hamilton County schools. He was married to Selma Quam March 31, 1909, at Stanhope. They made their home in Jewell six years after their marriage, coming to Emmet County in 1915,where they have farmed ever since. They had celebrated the golden wedding anniversary March 31 of this year, with all of their children present. Mr. Lilland was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife and children: Harvey of Jackson, Minn.; Tenner of Estherville; Mrs. Elvin (Sylvia) Sunde and Mrs. Richard (Janice) Nelson also of Estherville; Mrs. Ernie (Lorrene) Gellings of Heles Corner, Wisc.; and Mrs. Eugene (Wanda) Cich of Covina, Cal.
Other survivors include 13 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Martin (Johanna) Samson and Mrs. Ed (Bertha) Stanerson, both of Estherville, and one brother, Henry Lilland of Slater. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church, the Rev. T.W. Maakestad officiating. Friends may call at the Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home from today until noon tomorrow, when the body will lie in state at the church until time of services. Burial will be in East Side cemetery. Pallbearers are Benjamin Anderson, Otis Quam, James Quam, Truman Quam and Casper Hendricksen, all of the Story City area, and Ed Stanerson of Estherville.
