Armstrong – Services for Richard D. Larson, 47, were held Monday morning at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with Pastor Don Sarff officiating. Interment was in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. He died Saturday, Oct. 2, at St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato, Minn.Larson was born March 19, 1935 at Swea City, the son of L. Art and Thressa (Tow) Larson. He attended and graduated from the Armstrong schools and attended Estherville Junior College two years, majoring in the Agriculture Program. He remained single, and lived most of his life in Armstrong where he worked for Armstrong Redi-Mix with his father and farmed the last three years.
He was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church and the Armstrong Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. He was in service 1955-1958.
Larson is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Larson, Armstrong; two brothers, Larry of Armstrong and Duane, Mankato; one nephew, Scott Larson, Armstrong and two nieces, Shawna and Alicia Larson, Mankato.
He was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 4, 1982)
