Bert Larson, 75, Funeral Saturday Held Armstrong
Swea City – Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Feb. 10 at the Armstrong Norwegian Lutheran church for Bert Larson, well known and respected farmer for many years a resident of the Swea City community.Mr. Larson was born in Illinois in 1875. He later came to Iowa and was united in marriage to Amelia Fevold at Badger, Ia.
The couple came to this community about 1920, having bought the farm one mile east of Swea City, now owned by the Walter R. Smiths. After they retired from farming, Mr. and Mrs. Larson moved to their Swea City home, now owned by the Harold Evans.
The later moved to Eagle Grove and of late years have lived in Armstrong. Mr. Larson died Wednesday, Feb. 7 of a heart attack suffered at the home of his son, Raymond, at Armstrong.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Lester Knutson, Randall, Ia., and four sons, Raymond and Art of Armstrong; Millard of Casper, Wyo., and Jay, Seattle, Wash. There are also 9 grandchildren.
Mr. Larson was a life long member of the Norwegian Lutheran church and his pastor, the Rev. H.E. Rasmussen officiated at the funeral.
Burial was in Armstrong Grove cemetery. (Algona Upper Des Moines, Algona, IA, February 15, 1951)
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Ewing, Mrs. Martha Knutsen, Roal Roalson, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Uhr and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Berguson attended the funeral of Bert Larson a Armstrong Saturday, Feb. 10. (Algona Upper Des Moines, Algona, IA, February 22, 1951)
