Armstrong – Funeral services for Richard A. Larson, 81, of Armstrong, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swea City. Interment at Armstrong Grove Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Henry-Olson-Funral Home in Armstrong. He died on Friday, Jan. 1, 1999 at his rural home near Armstrong. Armstrong – Funeral services for Richard A. Larson, 81, of Armstrong, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swea City, with pastors Robert Kobler and Paul Rothfusz officiating. Interment at Armstrong Grove Cemetery. He died on Friday, Jan. 1, 1999 at his rural home near Armstrong.

Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong.

He was born Aug. 26, 1917 in Armstrong, the son of Gust and May (Brentner) Larson. He lived all his life in the rural Armstrong area and received his education in the country schools of Kossuth County. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Marie Torgerson at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong on March 29, 1974. He farmed all his life until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swea City and also of the Eagle’s Club in Fairmont. He enjoyed fishing and dancing.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Larson, Armstrong; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Colleen) Owens, Armstrong and Darla Sell, Armstrong; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother, Sam Larson of Mesa, Ariz.; six nieces and nephews; many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 4, 1999)
