James Krough
Estherville – Services for James Richard Krough, 50, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Tom Balm officiating. Interment will be in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery, Armstrong. He died Monday, Aug. 12, 1985 [per SS Index August 13] at Toulon, Ill.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville after 3 p.m. Thursday.

Krough was born Dec. 2, 1934 at Ringsted, the son of Fred and Marjorie (Speicher) Krough. He began his education in country schools near Fairmont, attended Dolliver School from 6th grade to graduation in 1953. Krough served with the United States Army in Germany from 1955-57. In 1959 he was united in marriage with Alvina Miller at Cylinder. He lived in California, then moved to Minneapolis, Minn. where he was employed as a sheetmetal workman. The past year he has lived with his parents in Estherville. He was baptized and confirmed in the Dolliver United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons: Jason, David, and James Krough all of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter Mary Krough serving with the United States Navy in the Philippines; two grandchildren; four brothers: George, Denver, Colo.; Ronald, Santa Anna, Calif.; Ralph, Boulder, Colo. and Roger, Toulon, Ill.; three sisters: Mrs. Charles (Mary) Allen, Huntsville, Ala.; Mrs. Kenneth (Florence) Schmidt, Sherburn, Minn. and Mrs. Terry (Diane) Smith, Swea City.

He was preceded in death by one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 15, 1985)
