Henry [William Henry] Knight of Armstrong Dies This A.M.
Veteran of Civil War, Resided at Armstrong Since 1880
Henry Knight, 89, Civil war veteran died at his home at Armstrong this morning at seven-thirty after an illness of six months. Mr. Knight was a volunteer in Company K, first New Jersey regiment of militia at the age of 18 years.Mr. Knight brought his family to Emmet county in 1880 and has resided on his farm near Armstrong and in that town continuously since that year. He is survived by his wife [Caroline Fox Knight] and three sons, William and John living in the west and Godfrey at Armstrong. A fourth son Robert died in 1899.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at Armstrong.
Mr. Knight was the second surviving civil war veteran of the Armstrong community. He was a member of the G.A.R. post at Bancroft. Thos. Goodge of Armstrong is now the last of the grand army left at that place. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, June 29, 1933)

Armstrong, June 29 (Special to the Daily News) – William Henry Knight, 90, who has lived in Emmet county since 1880 died this morning at 7:30 in his home here.He is survived by his widow and three sons, William, John and Godfrey. Another son, Robert died in 1899.
Mr. Knight was a veteran of the civil war and was one of the few remaining survivors of the war in this county. He had been ill for six months following an attack of the flu. He was born in 1843 [Per 1900 census, May, 1840. Immigrated from Ireland in 1858].
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 29, 1933)
