Mrs. Knight Dies Monday
Aged Armstrong Woman Had Suffered Strokes; Funeral Today at Church
Armstrong – Mrs. Caroline Knight died Monday afternoon, Nov. 29 after a few days illness. Caroline Fox was born in Ireland Feb. 5, 1858. She came to Newton, Iowa with her parents where she grew to womanhood and married William Henry Knight Nov. 13, 1878. They moved to a farm near Armstrong where they resided until about 15 years ago they moved into Armstrong. Five children were born to this union. Her husband and three children preceded her in death. A daughter died in infancy; and two sons Robert and John. Two sons survive her, William of Montana and Godfrey of Armstrong, also six grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Sadie Churchill, Parsons, Kans., Mrs. Mary Thoburn, Iron Mountain, Mich.; John Fox of Jenkins, Minn.; Mrs. Della Churchill and Henry Fox of Armstrong. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church by the Rev. J. D. Woolcott, this afternoon. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 2, 1937)

Mrs. Caroline Knight died at her home in Armstrong early Monday morning of last week, following a paralytic stroke. Caroline Fox was born in Ireland Feb. 5, 1858, and died Nov. 29, 1937, at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 24 days. She was married to William Henry Knight on Nov. 13, 1878.Five children were born to this union. Her husband, one infant daughter and two sons, Robert and John, preceded her in death. Two sons survive, William Knight of Montana and Godfre7 Knight of Armstrong. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Churchill of Parsons, Kans.; Mrs. Mary Thoburn of Iron Mountain, Mich.; Mrs. Della Churchill of Armstrong; and two brothers, John Fox of Minnesota and Henry Fox of Armstrong. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church, conducted by J.D. Wolcott and burial was in Armstrong Grove township.
