Armstrong – Mrs. James (LaVonne) Kirk, 41, Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada, and formerly of Armstrong, died Thursday [August 23, 1979] at Swift Current.

Graveside services for Mrs. Kirk will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Armstrong Grove Cemetery with the Rev. James Kirk and the Rev. Charles H. Fender Jr., officiating. Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Armstrong, is in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Fretty, she was born Sept. 8, 1937, at Armstrong. She received her education in Armstrong schools, graduating in 1955, and was married to the Rev. James Kirk at Armstrong on Aug. 19, 1960.

She lived at Armstrong until her marriage and then lived in Canada, where her husband is pastor of the First United Church of Canada.

Mrs. Kirk is survived by her mother, Mrs. Bernice Fretty, Armstrong; one son, James A. A. Kirk, and one daughter, Charmalee A. Kirk, both at home; and one sister, Mrs. Allen (Betty) Blue, Colfax.
