Mrs. Laffey of Dolliver Passes Away
Dolliver, Dec. 8 – (Special to the Daily News) – Mrs. Elizabeth Laffey, who has been critically ill for several weeks, died early Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom Olson.Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
Mrs. Laffey Is survived by two sons, Harold and John, and three daughters, Mrs. Tom Olson, Fern and Esther Laffey. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 8, 1936)
Dolliver Woman Passes Away
Dolliver – Mrs. Sank Laffey passed away at 8:00 o’clock a.m. last Sunday [December 6, 1936] at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom Olson, in Jack Creek township. Mrs. Laffey had been seriously sick for some time with a heart ailment and her death was expected. There are five surviving children, Harold, John, Fern, Esther and Mrs. Tom Olson in addition to other relatives and many friends. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 10, 1936)Wm. Laffey and daughter, Wilma, Mr. and Mrs. John Ocomar of Mapleton, were here attending Mrs. Lizzie Laffey’s funeral Tuesday. They were guests at the John Laffey home. Dolliver people who attended the funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Laffey in Jack Creek township last Tuesday are Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Eckhart, Mrs. Paul Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. W.G. McIlwraith, Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Redhead, and Chan Redhead. Mrs. Laffey lived in this community many years and was very well known here. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 15, 1936)
