Armstrong – Funeral services for Thomas F. [Francis] Kinnander, Sr., 70, of Armstrong will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 14 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with Pastor Harold Heinzig officiating. Interment will be held at the Armstrong Grove Cemetery in Armstrong. He died on July 12 at the Fairmont Community Hospital in Fairmont, Minn.

Visitation will be held today from 4-8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong.

He was born on Jan. 2, 1930 in Armstrong the son of Clifford and Rose (Nielsen) Laffey. His father died when he was a young child and he was adopted by Henry Kinnander when his mother remarried.

He graduated from Armstrong High School in 1948.

On Feb. 11, 1953 he was united in marriage to Beverly Prull in East Chain, Minn. The couple made their home in the Armstrong area where he was employed as a farmer, at the liquor store, Art’s Way Manufacturing, the city of Armstrong and GKN Armstrong Wheels. He retired from GKN in 2000. He enjoyed antique tractors, airplane flying and fox and coyote hunting.

He was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong and the Armstrong Heritage Museum.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Kinnander of Armstrong; three daughters, Diane Lawrence and husband Steve of Tacoma, Wash., Linda Nicoson and husband Dean of Armstrong and Lori Korte and husband Steve of Ringsted; one son, Thomas Kinnander Jr. and wife Becky of Ringsted; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one brother, Harlan Kinnander and wife Helen of Armstrong.
