Laurens – Anna Marie Stoner, 89, of Laurens, died Thursday, May 5, 1994 at Pocahontas Community Hospital. Services were held May 9 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Laurens. Interment was in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

She was born April 20, 1905 at Fort Dodge, the daughter of John and Emma (Torkelson) Gram. She graduated from Halfa High School in 1924. On March 10, 1926 she married Milo Kesler in Algona. He died June 7, 1951. She married Henry Stoner Aug. 9, 1957 at Petersburg, Minn. The couple made their home in Laurens where they owned and operated Stoner’s Café. He died April 2, 1969 and she continued to operate the café. She received an appreciation certificate in 1977 from the Laurens FFA and was named honorary Chapter Farmer in 1978. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women in Laurens.

Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Ormal (Lucille) Guinn of Swea City; Mrs. Bart (Irene) Evans of Estherville and Mrs. Roger (Linda) Simons of Webb; stepson, Dick Stoner of Laurens; daughter-in-law, Delores Kesler of Estherville; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; son (Junior Kesler); four brothers, one sister; one granddaughter; two stepsons and one stepdaughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 11, 1994)
