Sydney Hays, Former Armstrong Banker, Dies at Age of 76

Sydney Carrol Hays, 76, prominent Armstrong banker for many years, died at 5:30 Monday afternoon at Holy Family hospital where he has been for the past four years. He suffered a stroke and paralysis four years ago.

He was a banker in Armstrong for years but had retired several years ago. He was a Spanish American War veteran and a Mason.

His survivors include one nephew, Thad of Davenport; and two nieces, Mrs. Gladys Clapp of Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. Frances Hays Zaun, St. Paul, Minn. His wife, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of the relatives.
