Last Rites Held Saturday for Guy Kesler

Last rites for Guy Kesler, an Armstrong resident for more than 50 years, were held Saturday afternoon, May 22, from the First Methodist church. The Rev. S.E. Polovina officiated. Burial was in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.George Guy Kesler, son of George Henry and Mary Ann Kesler, was born Oct. 25, 1873, near Genoa, Ill. He passed away May 20 at his home in Armstrong. He had been in poor health for several months.
He moved with his family to a farm near Radcliffe, Ia., in 188. On Feb. 26, 1895, he was married to Lydia Whitesell at Iowa Falls. They farmed near Radcliffe until the spring of 1902 when they moved to a farm near Armstrong. Upon retiring, they moved to town.
Mrs. Kesler preceded him in death, also an infant daughter, Pearl, and a son, Milo.
Surviving are two sons, LeRoy of Emmetsburg and Keigh of Armstrong; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Conn and Mrs. Doris Thackrey, both of Armstrong; 21 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie M. Fieste of Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. James Manley of Armstrong, and one brother, Elmer of Armstrong. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 26, 1954)
