Mrs. Kloss of Armstrong Dies of Stroke
Armstrong – Mrs. Adolphina Kloss, 75, Armstrong died at 3:35 this morning at Holy Family Hospital of a stroke. She was admitted to the hospital late yesterday afternoon.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Armstrong, the Rev. E.E. Apt officiating. Interment will be in the Armstrong Cemetery. Slaba Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Tentative plans have been set for the Rosary to be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the Kloss home.
Mrs. Kloss was born June 4, 1885, near Warsaw, Poland, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Kosciusko. She received her education in Poland. She was married to Paul Jon Kloss in Poland in 1904. The couple came to this country soon after their marriage and lived in Kansas City, Mo., where Mr. Kloss was employed at a meat packing plant. In 1918 they moved to the Armstrong area and truck farmed until Mr. Kloss’ death in 1946.
Mrs. Kloss was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Armstrong.
She is survived by two daughters, Frances of Galesburg, Ill., and Ann a home; one son, Thomas of Baltimore, Md., and one granddaughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 5, 1961)
