Armstrong: Mrs. Ole Johnson passed away Sunday [January 27, 1929] at her home in Armstrong after a short illness of influenza. Funeral arrangements have not been made at the time of this writing. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, January 30, 1929)

Armstrong – Mrs. Ole J. Johnson, nee Martha Kloster, was born at Stavanger, Norway, on March 25, 1851, and passed away at Armstrong, Iowa, on January 27, 1929, at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 2 days. She was united in marriage to Ole Johnson December 30, 1879, in Grundy County, Ill. To this marriage union eight children were born of which seven remain with her husband to mourn the departure of a dear wife and mother. The children are Joseph, Oscar, Gerhard and Mary (Mrs. Ole Opsal) all of Armstrong; George of Willmer, Minn.; Caper of Spicer, Minn., and Bertha (Mrs. E. Nordby) of Butterfield, Minn. A daughter, three and a half years old has preceded her in death. Besides the above she leaves two half brothers, Knute Kloster of Kanehiyohi, Minn., and Hans Kloster of Armstrong; two half sisters, Annie Kloster and Mrs. Gertie Thompson of Spicer, Minn. She leaves 41 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Lutheran church. Rev. E.T. Lundy had charge of the service.
