Last Rites for Randolph Johnson
Funeral services for Randolph, 44, Emmet county maintenance man for several years, were held last Wednesday at Armstrong. Mr. Johnson who had been in failing health since the first of the year died at the University hospital in Iowa City, Sunday, Sept. 3. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, September 14, 1944)

Randolph Johnson
Randolph Johnson of Armstrong died at the University hospital at Iowa City Sunday, Sept. 3. Funeral services were held in the Nazareth Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 6. Services were conducted by the Rev. R.W. Bonde, a former Armstrong pastor, and burial was made in the Armstrong Grove cemetery.

Randolph Johnson was born at Bode, Aug. 15, 1900. He moved to Armstrong with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.R. Johnson, at the age of one year and spent the rest of his life in and near Armstrong. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

He was united in marriage Aug. 10, 1919, to Florence Tibbetts. They had two children, Mrs. Maxine Daries of Armstrong, and MC 1-c Harold C. Johnson, now serving in the South Pacific with the marines. He is survived also by his widow, two grandchildren, Jerry Lee and Dianna Kay Daries, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.R. Johnson, and three brothers, Thomas, jr., Clarence and Ernest, all of Armstrong, and a foster sister, Mrs. Helen Babeau, of Detroit, Mich. Three brothers preceded him in death.
