Mrs. Mary Johnson of City Dies
Mrs. Mary Johnson, 60, of Estherville, died at 1:26 a.m. today at Holy Family hospital after a long illness. She had suffered from cancer.

Mrs. Johnson was born Sept. 9, 1895 at Forest City [Mary Smith] and was educated in the Forest City schools. She was married to Ole Enderson of Forest City who died in 1929 and then later was married to Arthur Johnson who died in 1941.

Mrs. Johnson spent her girlhood in the Forest City community. After her marriage to Mr. Enderson the couple lived in Armstrong and Maple Hill. Mrs. Johnson and her second husband lived in Armstrong. She moved to Estherville 10 years ago.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian church here.

Survivors include five sons, George Enderson of Estherville, Clarence Enderson of Estherville, Orville Enderson of Estherville, Dewey Enderson of Estherville and Arthur Johnson of Estherville, three daughters: Mrs. Vernon Fox of Pequot, Minn., Mrs. Myrtle Payne of Estherville, and Mrs. George Manley of Armstrong, one stepson, Virgil Johnson of Des Moines, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Kermmen Fisher and Mrs. John Rockefeller, both of Charles City.

Also surviving are four sisters, one brother, 27 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Sternborg Funeral chapel and at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church, the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel until Thursday noon. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 10, 1956)
