Armstrong – Services for Mrs. Bonnie M. [Marie] Johnson, 82, of Armstrong will be held Friday at Nazareth Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Fohs officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1993 at Valley Vue Care Center at Armstrong.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson-Furhman Funeral Home, Armstrong.

She was born July 18, 1911 at Jefferson, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Perkins) Athey and moved to the Halfa area at age six and attended Armstrong School. On Dec. 19, 1929 she married Ernest Johnson at Estherville. She worked at Art’s Way Mfg. until retiring in 1975. She lived in her home until Dec. 19, 1992 when she moved to Valley Vue. She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Nazareth Lutheran Church Women and past member of the Harmony Club of Armstrong.

Survivors include daughters: Mrs. Vern (Doraee Dahms, Armstrong and Mrs. Wayne (Glenda) Nelson of California, Maryland; Five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband who died June 19, 1983; six brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 20, 1993)
