Armstrong – Services for Ernest Johnson, 74, Armstrong, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Nazareth Lutheran Church with Pastor Don Sarff officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. He died Sunday, June 19, 1983 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Armstrong after 3 p.m. Tuesday (today.)

Johnson was born April 16, 1909 at Armstrong, the son of Thomas and Caroline Johnson. He attended the Armstrong schools. On Dec. 19, 1929, he was united in marriage with Bonnie Athey at Armstrong. He lived his entire life in the Armstrong area where he farmed until his retirement. After retiring from the farm he worked for Arts-Way Mfg. Co. for ten years and Armstrong Rim and Wheel five years. He was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife Bonnie, Armstrong; two daughters, Mrs. Vern (Doraee) Dahms, Armstrong and Mrs. Wayne (Glenda) Nelson, Lexington Park, Md.; five grandchildren: Doran Dahms, Forest City, Darwin Dahms, Prairie City, Dan Dahms, Cedar Falls, Dawn and Wendy Nelson, Lexington Park, Md.; two great-grandchildren: Dustin and Derek Dahms, Forest City; two brothers, Thomas Johnson, Lime Springs and Clarence Johnson, Ellsworth.
