Walter Jones Dies; Rites Set Wednesday
Walter Jones, 77, Armstrong, passed away at 3 p.m. Monday [October 12, 1970] at the Balmer Nursing Home in Estherville where he had been a resident for the past three years.

He was born May 30, 1893, in Union, Iowa, and came to the Armstrong area in the early 1920s where he did farm work until his retirement.

He is survived by two half sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Mills, Estherville, and Mrs. Polly Mitchel of Eldora; and one half brother, Edward Gorham, of Portland, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a half brother.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Reese-Henry Chapel in Armstrong with burial at the Grove Cemetery in Armstrong.

The Rev. G.O. St. Lawrence will officiate.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Tuesday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 13, 1970)
