Funeral Held For Nate Jones
Lived on the Same Farm Near Armstrong 21 Years
Armstrong, Iowa, August 25, - Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church here for Nate Jones [Joel Nathan Jones], 49, who died at his home north of Armstrong Saturday [August 20, 1932] afternoon after an illness of creeping paralysis. Mr. Jones had been in poor health for the past ten years, but was confined to his bed only two months. He leaves besides his wife, four children, three daughters, Mrs. Emma Tow, Mrs. Elma Sabin and Mrs. Elva Williams, all living near Armstrong and a son Orville [Orval] at home. Three children died in infancy. Mr. Jones came to Armstrong from Union, Iowa, about 25 years ago and has lived on the farm where he died for 21 years. Funeral services were held Monday of last week at the M.E. church for Nathan Jones. Services were conducted by the Rev. C.B. Mitchell and burial was in the Armstrong cemetery. Mr. Jones had been ill for two months prior to his death. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Alma Sabin, Mrs. Emma Tow, Mrs. Alvia Williams, one son, Orville, at home.
