Ex-Resident of Armstrong Dies at 74
Charles A. [Andrew] Wilson [Willson], 74, former Armstrong resident, died yesterday afternoon at the Fairmont Community Hospital. The cause of death was attributed to a heart attack and other complications. Wilson had been in poor health for several years.

Wilson was born May 17, 1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Wilson, in Lyon County. The family moved to Forest City where he received his education. While still a young man he and his family moved to a farm south of Armstrong.

He was married to the former Alma Skow on March 18, 1914, at her parents’ home in Armstrong. Following their marriage they lived in Harris for two years where Wilson was in the hardware business with his brother. They then moved to Armstrong where he worked as a mechanic and hauled gravel for 22 years. In 1937 they moved to Fairmont where he was employed as a salesman for 15 years. He retired last year. He was a member of the Armstrong Methodist Church.

Surviving are his widow, four sons, Woodrow of Warrenton, Ore., Harold of Beaumont, Tex., Lee of San Francisco, Calif., Robert of Milwaukee, Wis., and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Katherine Skow of Estherville, and several nephews and nieces of the Estherville and Ringsted areas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one nephew.

Funeral services are pending at the Armstrong Methodist Church. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. Olson Funeral Home in Fairmont is in charge of arrangements. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 11, 1963)
