Armstrong – Services for Mrs. Caroline Whitlow, 95, of State Center will be held Thursday, February 3, at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Armstrong, beginning at 10:30 a.m., with Reverend Marshall Monthei officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery in Armstrong. She died January 31, 1994 at State Center Manor in State Center.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong.

She was born on January 8, 1899 in Fenton, the daughter of Frank and Rose Bailey. She received her education in the Fenton and Algona schools. She united in marriage to Archie Whitlow on February 14, 1920 in Algona.

Her husband was a veterinarian who began his practice in Lakota in 1919. The couple moved to Swea City in 1924 and to Armstrong in 1934.

She was survived by a son, William Whitlow of West Branch; three daughters, Rose Ellen Coyle of Alamo, Texas, Cathryn Seeger, State Center and Carol Boyle of Sioux City; one sister, Frances Rauert, Denver, Colo.; one half-sister, Donnajean Fude of Webb; one half-brother, John Bailey, Lincoln, Neb.; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one son. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 2, 1994)
