Armstrong – Mrs. Donald (Wilma) Ervilla York, 66, of Armstrong died Friday [October 23, 1987] at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Estherville, conducted by the Rev. Robert Kunz.

Burial will follow at the Armstrong Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong.

Mrs. York was born Nov. 12, 1920, at Armstrong, the daughter of Nick and Vida (Eckholm) Burgess. She received her education in the Armstrong schools.

She was married to Donald York Aug. 21, 1986 at Sioux Falls, S.D. and had been a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Donald York of Armstrong; her mother, Vida Burgess of Armstrong; three sons and three daughters: Joseph Reiter of Layton, Utah; Pierre Reiter of Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Jerry (Judy) Doss of Flagstaff, Ariz.; DeEtta Mayhugh of Martins Ferry, Ohio; Ernest Reiter of Dallas, Tex., and Mrs. Eugene (Sharon) LaJoie of Port Orchard, Wash. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters: Fae Burgess of Deer Creek, Minn., Marvea Clymer of Armstrong; Darrell Burgess of Armstrong, and Deloris Fangman of Shell Knob, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 26, 1987)
