Howard Yackle
Armstrong – Services for Howard Yackle, 61, of Hayward, Calif. will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong with the Rev. Marshall Monthei officiating. Burial will follow in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Yackle died Thursday, September 28, 1989 at Hayward, Calif.Howard Andrew Yackle was born September 29, 1927 to George A. and Jessie Maude Yackle near Armstrong. He attended Armstrong and Maple Hill schools. During World War II he served in the Merchant Marine and after the war he served in the U.S. Army. When discharged from the service he moved to California where he lived in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas.
Survivors include a son, Howard Yackle, Jr. of Hayward, Calif.; two brothers, Floyd Yackle of Estherville and Gene Yackle of Dolliver; five sisters: Mrs. Ruby Rowan of Grenada, Minn., Mrs. Tom (Ardis) Hatcher of Billerica, MA., and Mrs. Jim (Shirley) O’Sell of Dolliver; Mrs. Leonard (LaRue) Swipes of Corte Madera, Calif., and Mrs. Robert (Velda) Johnson of Fairmont, Minn.; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Yackle was preceded in death by his parents, a brother George and a sister Thelma. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 2, 1989)
