Dolliver – Jessie Maude [Maude Jessie] Yackle, 79, Dolliver, died Oct. 6 at the Fairmont Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Dolliver Methodist Church with the Rev. Travis Cannaday officiating and burial at the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel, Armstrong.
Mrs. Yackle was born Feb. 18, 1897 in Fontana, Kan., to Samuel and Anna White Mooney and was educated in rural Kansas schools. She was married to George Yackle March 24, 1914 in Olathe, Kan., and moved to Iowa in 1917. They lived in Emmetsburg area until 1936 when they moved to Dolliver where Mrs. Yackle had lived since.
Survivors include three sons, Floyd Yackle, Estherville; Gene Yackle, Dolliver; and Howard Yackle, Van Nuys, Calif. six daughters, Mrs. James (Shirley) O’Sell,Dolliver,; Mrs. Vern (Ruby) Rowan, Granada, Minn.; LaRue Swipes, Corte Madera, Calif.; Mrs. Bob (Velda) Johnson, Fairmont, Minn.; Mrs. Bill (Thelma) Kelvin, Osawatomie, Kan.; and Mrs. John (Ardys) Hatcher, Billerica, Mass.; 38 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Dan Brassfield, Osawatomie, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, one brother and one son. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 7, 1976)
