Yackle Dies at Hospital
George Yackle, 73, a retired Dolliver farmer, died at 8 a.m. yesterday at Holy Family Hospital from a heart condition. He had been admitted to the hospital Monday.George Andrew Yackle was born July 20, 1893, in Nebraska to Mr. and Mrs. Christian [Christopher] Yackle.
He and his parents moved to Kansas, and he received his education there.
March 14, 1914, Mr. Yackle was married to Maude Mooney at Oletha, Kan.
In the fall of 191 they moved to Emmetsburg where Mr. Yackle was employed at a tile factory. Soon thereafter they moved to Emmet County and farmed until their retirement.
Survivors include his wife Maude of Dolliver; six daughters, Mrs. Vern (Ruby) Rowan of Granada, Minn., Mrs. Leonard (La Rue) Swipes of Corte Madera, Calif., Mrs. William (Thelma) Kalvin of Osawatowie, Kan., Mrs. John (Ardys) Hatcher of Larkspur, Calif., Mrs. Robert (Velda) Johnson of Fairmont, Minn., and Mrs. James (Shirley) O’Sell of Dolliver.
He is also survived by three sons, Floyd and Gene of Dolliver, and Howard of Freemont, Calif.; one brother, Earl of Paloa, Kan.; and one sister, Mrs. Andrew Adams of Emmetsburg.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Dolliver Methodist Church, Rev. Herman Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Slaba-Reese Funeral Home at Armstrong after 7 p.m. today until noon Saturday when the body will be taken to the church in Dolliver to lie in state until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 6, 1966)
