George Yackle, jr., 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Yackle, Sr., who live two and one half miles south of Dolliver, was instantly killed Wednesday [December 10, 1941] afternoon when his gun discharged while he was shooting rabbits. The accident occurred only about 30 rods from the Yackle home. Mr. Yackle was doing some work around the yard and saw his son fall. He was one of the most popular young men of the Dolliver community, making friends wherever he went by his cheery disposition and pleasant manner.
