Mrs. Rosa Griese Dies
Mrs. Rosa Louise Griese, 83, Dolliver, died at 11:50 p.m. April 11, 1973, in Fairmont Community Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Dolliver United Methodist Church with the Rev. Travis Cannaday officiating. Burial will be made in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 16, 1889, in Clinton to Charles and Anna Hagebock. She moved with her parents to the Dolliver area when she was 12 years old and lived the remainder of her life there. On Jan. 27,1909, she was married to Hiram Griese. She was a member of Dolliver Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Martin Griese of Willits, Calif., and Raymond Griese of Goodland, Minn.; six daughters, Mrs. Edna Evans, Estherville, Mrs. Einer (Ina) Hansen, Spirit Lake, Mrs. Byron (Minnie) Tiervold, Chokia, Minn., Mrs. Waldemar (Viola) Hansen, Riceville, Mrs. Wayne (Verna) Schneider, Loveland, Colo., and Mrs. Pat (Lora) Kenny, Dolliver; 32 grandchildren, 103 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. John Griese, Fairmont, and Mrs. Everett [Evert] Griese, Dolliver.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Armstrong, today (Friday) until noon Saturday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Vernon Edwards, Marvin Linge, Robert J. Nielsen, Lee Holl, Gene Yackle and Robert Tirevold. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 13, 1973)
