Dolliver – Services for Mrs. Lydia A. [Anna] Griese, 84, Dolliver, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Dolliver United Methodist Church with the Rev. Travis Cannady officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.Mrs. Griese died Monday [June 6, 1977] evening at the Valley Vue Nursing Home, Armstrong.
Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until 9 a.m. Thursday when the body will be taken to the church.
Mrs. Griese was born Jan. 29, 1893, at Clarence, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hagebock [Hageboeck]. She received her education in rural Clarence and Dolliver schools and was married to Everet [Evert] (Ed) Griese Jan. 21, 1914, at Dolliver. She lived and worked in the Dolliver area most of her life.
She is survived by one son, Carl Griese, Dolliver; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Hilda Griese, Fairmont. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one daughter, three sisters and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 8, 1977)
