Armstrong – Services for George M. [Merlin] (Bob) Gram, 69, of Armstrong will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Armstrong, with Pastor Paul Rothfusz officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery with full military graveside service by Armstrong VFW Post 5232. He died Monday, May 10, 1993 at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong from 4-9 p.m. Thursday.

He was born Feb. 25, 1924 in Ringsted, the son of John and Emma (Torkelson) Gram and attended Armstrong School graduating from high school in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army from March 6, 1943 to Dec. 29, 1945 in the European Theatre. On Oct. 12, 1955 he married Delores Brockmann at Fairmont, Minn. He worked for the State of Iowa Liquor Dept. as store manager, retiring Oct. 30, 1986. He was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church and a life member of VFW Post 5232 at Armstrong.

Survivors include his wife, Delores, Armstrong; daughters: Mrs. Steve (Sheryl) Ogren, Armstrong and Mrs. Joe (Sandy) Newville, Welcome, Minn.; a son, Bob Gram, Armstrong; three granddaughters; a sister, Anna Stoner of Laurens and brothers Harry and Ray of Armstrong.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 12, 1993)
