Resident of Ringsted is Dead at 63
Mrs. Donald Gage Sr., 63, Ringsted, died Wednesday [May 1, 1968] at 9:35 p.m. in Holy Family Hospital. Mrs. Gage had been in failing health for the past four years and this time had been hospitalized since April 21. She had leukemia.Beulah DeVary was born March 18, 1905, at Winchester, Ky., the daughter of Fred and Drusie [Wiseman] DeVary. The family lived there until she was about eight years old when the family moved to Grundy County, Iowa. When she was 13, her parents and family moved to Swan Lake Township, Emmet County.
She was married March 21, 1923, to Donald H. Gage at the First Methodist Church in Estherville. Mr. and Mrs. Gage had continued to farm since that time in the Ringsted area.
Mrs. Gage was longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, Dareld of Sioux Falls, S.D., Donald D. of Dolliver, and Gailen of Gruver; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Beth) Peterson of Gruver, and Mrs. Virgil (Gertrude) Shipley of Sioux Falls; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Sturgle DeVary of Pontiac, Mich., Frank and Ordean DeVary, both of Mason City; and one sister, Mrs. Raymond Bahl of Mason City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Estherville, Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery near Armstrong.
Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home from Friday noon until noon on Saturday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 2, 1968)
