Mrs. H. Gage Dies Suddenly at Armstrong
Mrs. Harper (Gertie) Gage, 81, died suddenly Thursday about 2:30 pm. at the Valley Vue Nursing Home in Armstrong. She had been in failing health for some time but yesterday had been up to eat her lunch.

Edna Gertrude Rice was born Nov. 4, 1886, in Linn County, Kan., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jackson Rice.

She was married March 16, 1904, to Harper Gage. They were married in Emmet County and farmed in this area for many years. Mr. Gage died in 1930.

She is survived by two sons, Richard of Owatonna, Minn., and Garland of Blairstown; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Orpha) Wickert of Redlands, Calif. and Mrs. Roger (Elva) Burne of Bettendorf; two step-sons, Donald Gage of Ringsted and Clifford of La Cygne, Kan.; 22 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Rev. C.R. Buckwalter officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from this evening until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 15, 1967)
