P.C. Fouts Dies; Rites To Be Here
Peter Charles Fouts, 47, died yesterday evening in a hospital in Logansport, Ind. His sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wilder, and two of his children, Merlyn and Dorothy Fouts, were in Logansport with him and returned to Estherville early this morning.

His body is being brought to Estherville. Funeral services will be at 2:30 Saturday afternoon in the Methodist church, the Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer officiating. Burial will be made in the Armstrong cemetery where his parents are buried.

Surviving are his four children, Mrs. Charles Hindal, Merlyn Fouts, Dorothy Fouts and Charles Fouts, jr., all of Estherville. Merlyn, Dorothy and Charles, jr., live with their mother, Mrs. Ray Mitchell. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Lany Fouts, two sisters, Mrs. Wilder and Miss Emma Fouts, all of Estherville, and two brothers, Ross Fouts of Estherville and Arthur Fouts of Hammond, Ind.

Mr. Fouts has been in Logansport since he left Estherville five years ago. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 27, 1940)

Mahlum and Anderson received a message this morning that the remains of Chas. Fouts would arrive here Friday morning for burial. Mr. Fouts passed away in Hammond, Ind., yesterday. He was formerly a resident of this city and for a time was employed by the Rock Island Railway. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, June 27, 1940)
