Armstrong – Services for Lillian Fothergill, 84, of Armstrong, will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Miller officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery, Armstrong. She died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998 at Valley Vue Care Center, Armstrong.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong.

She was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Kossuth County, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Hannah Dolf. She attended rural school in the county. On Oct. 2, 1934, she was united in marriage with Marvin Fothergill in Swea City. Following their marriage the couple farmed north of Armstrong until retiring and moving into Armstrong in 1976.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Armstrong, United Methodist Women and active in church circle. She was also a member of Neighbor’s Club, Armstrong Senior Citizens and Fairmont Rock and Gem Club.

She is survived by sons John of Ringsted, James and Earl of Armstrong, daughter Mrs. Marlin (Mary) Prindle, Fairmont, Minn., 11 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, infant daughter, one great-grandchild, daughter-in-law, parents and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 9, 1998)
