Keith Follett Succumbs To Heart Attack
Keith E. [Eugene] Follett, 54, died of a heart attack early Sunday [April 30, 1950] morning at the Tom Murphy residence on south 15th street. He had lived in Estherville continuously for the last 16 years with the exception of three years on the coast during the recent war. An employee of the city here, he earlier drove a truck through Armstrong. He had not been ill previously.Rosary will be said tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 8:00 o’clock at the Sternborg funeral home. Funeral services have been tentatively scheduled for Wednesday morning at 9:00 o’clock at St. Patrick’s church with the Rev. Father James Duhigg in charge of services and burial in the cemetery at Armstrong.
Keith Follett was born Dec. 14, 1890, in Tennehasen, Minn. He was educated in Armstrong and married Helen DeBates in South Dakota during 1927. The couple lived first in Armstrong, then in Estherville where Follett was employed.
Survivors include a daughter, Wand Jean, of Estherville, and two sisters: Mrs. Grace Dare, Spirit Lake, and Mrs. Ida Allen, San Francisco. His wife preceded him in death 16 years ago. A sister, Mrs. Bert Clark, also died earlier. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 1, 1950)
