Well Known Armstrong Lady Passes
Mrs. Ed A. Follett, 71, well known in Armstrong and community where she has made her home for the past 21 years, died at her home there Monday [September 8, 1930] morning at ten o’clock. She had been ill for a week with erysipelas and in failing health for the past year.

Kathryn Gardner was born August 27, 1859, [per cemetery records, 1858] at Danville, Vt. She was married at Irisburg, Vt. on May 26, 1879, to Ed Follett and moved west two years later. The family lived for a time in Crow Wing and Martin counties, Minnesota, but moved to Emmet county 21 years ago. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Follett, Mrs. R.J. Dare of Spirit Lake, Mrs. John Allen of New Haven, Conn., Mrs. Hazel Clark deceased, and Keith Follett of Tripp, So. Dak.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at the home. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, September 10, 1930)

Mrs. R.J. Dare’s Mother Passed Away Monday Night
Mrs. A.E. Follett, of Armstrong, passed away Monday night at about 9:30 at her home in Armstrong. Her husband and her three children: Mrs. R.J. Dare, of Spirit Lake, Keith Follett, of Tripp, South Dakota, and Mrs. John Allen, of Bridgeport, Connecticutt, were at her bedside when she passed away. Mrs. Follett, who was 72 years of age, has been sick for the past two weeks, her death being caused by erysipelas.

Mr. and Mrs. Follett, who have resided in Armstrong many years, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May, 1929. Their union was blessed with four children, the above three living. Nine grandchildren and one great grandchild also mourn the death of a grandmother.

The funeral services are being held this afternoon at 2:30 at the Follett home in Armstrong. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, September 11, 1930)

Pioneer Resident of County Passes Away
Mrs. Ed Follett, pioneer resident of Emmet county died Monday night at her home in Armstrong from erysipelas. She has been ill only a short time. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at Armstrong. Mrs. Follett has been a resident of Emmet county for nearly forty years and has lived on farms in High Lake, Swan Lake and Armstrong. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, September 11, 1930)

Per Vermont Vital Records, Katie Gardner, daughter of Abbie Robbins and James K. Gardner was married to Edwin A. Follett, May 20, 1879 at Craftsbury, Vermont, also born at Craftsbury, Vermont.
