Mrs. Keith Follett of Armstrong Dies Today
Armstrong, Sept. 6 – Mrs. Keith Follett [Helen Margaret DeBates], 27, died here early this morning after an illness of only ten days of intestinal flu. Mrs. Follett is the former Helen De Bates, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.J. De Bates of Armstrong. She leaves besides her parents and husband, three small children, two brothers, John De Bates of Minnesota, Clifton of Armstrong and two sisters, Mrs. Frances Finnegan of Mapleton, Minn., and Alta at home.

Funeral arrangements have not as yet been made. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, September 6, 1932)

Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Dare, Art and Bernice, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dare and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Dare drove to Armstrong today to attend the funeral of Mrs. R.J. Dare’s sister-in-law, Mrs. Keith Follett, aged 27, who passed away early Tuesday morning after an illness with intestinal flu. The services were held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.J. DeBates at 1 o’clock. She is survived by her husband, three small children, her parents, and two sisters and two brothers. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, September 8, 1932)

Per Iowa Marriage Records, Helen Margaret Debates was married Jan. 14, 1925, at Clinton County, Iowa, to Edward John Lingard.
