Armstrong – Services for Mrs. Margaret (Margie [Myrtle]) Floyd, 94, Armstrong, were held Monday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Faye Fedlam and the Rev. James Fedlam officiating. Interment was in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Floyd died Thursday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville. Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Armstrong, was in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Gibbs, she was born Jan. 12, 1885, at Armstrong. She received her education in Armstrong and Brookings, S.D., schools and was married to William Floyd in June, 1906, at Armstrong.

The couple lived in Estherville and Thompson until moving to North Dakota in 1916. They returned to Armstrong in 1932, where they made their home since. She was a member of the Armstrong Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Floyd is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Inez) Holets, Armstrong; four grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Louise Olson, Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two daughters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 26, 1979)
