“Ole” Goodge, Armstrong, Dies at 68
Armstrong – Winneferd “Ole” Goodge, 68, longtime resident of Armstrong, died today at 4 a.m. at his home of a lingering illness.

Mr. Goodge had been a painter in Armstrong for many years.

He was born Nov.26, 1899, to Wesley and Ida Goodge a Lake Crystal, Minn., and lived there until he was 15 years old, at which time he came to Armstrong.

He was married Nov. 22, 1924, to Beatrice Moore of Armstrong. Mr. and Mrs. Goodge were married at Council Bluffs and afterwards lived in Omaha, Neb., for a year and a half before moving back to Armstrong. Since then they had lived there.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Gene (Maryann) Luscombe of Armstrong; one granddaughter, Amy Luscombe; and one brother, Luverne Coulson of Minneapolis.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Presbyterian Church in Armstrong, Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Burial will be in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Slaba-Reese Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Wednesday until noon Friday when the body will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 2, 1968)
