Armstrong – Services for Arnold Holland Flier, 88, of Armstrong will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Armstrong with the Rev. Robert Connor officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery, he died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996 at Valley Vue Care Center at Armstrong.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong.

He was born April 24, 1908 at Halfa, the son of Henry and Agnes (Holland) Flier and attended Armstrong school graduating from high school in 1926. He has lived his entire life in Armstrong area farming until retirement. He has been a resident of Valley Vue Care Center for the last month.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Armstrong, the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star and Odd Fellows.

Survivors include nephews: Georg Peterson of Armstrong, Ronald Peterson, LaCrosse, Wis.; a niece, Lucille Gibbons, Los Angeles; several cousins including Arlene Peitersen, Ringsted.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife who died June 8, 1993, one brother and several cousins. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 21, 1996)
