John Felkey Dies Friday
Armstrong Man Was in Local Hospital
Armstrong, June 25 – Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church for John Wesley Felkey, 62, who died Friday [June 22, 1934] morning at 11:25 at the Coleman hospital at Estherville following an operation for ruptured appendix which he underwent on the Monday before.

John W. Felkey was born on a farm south of Armstrong Dec. 6, 1872, where he grew to manhood.

On April 3, 1901 he was united in marriage to Daisy Haworth. Four children were born to this union, Lucille who preceded her father in death five years ago and Roscoe and Irene at home and Mrs. Velma House of Waterloo.

Mr. and Mrs. Felkey made their home on a farm for awhile later moving to Armstrong where he was in the harness business and the past four years he has operated the Busy Bee restaurant. He leaves besides his wife and children his aged mother, Mrs. Mary Felkey who is 81 years old and 3 sisters and two brothers. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, June 26, 1934)

Armstrong, June 26 – Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church for John W. Felkey, 61, who died Friday after an operation for a ruptured appendix. Mr. Felkey had been in business here several years and the past four years owned and operated the Busy Bee restaurant. He leaves besides his wife, three children.
