Estherville – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel here for Mrs. Edna Carrie Evans, 75, of Spirit Lake, formerly of Estherville, who died Sunday [December 20, 1987] at the Hilltop Care Center at Spirit Lake.

The Rev. Donald Johnson will conduct the service with burial to follow at Armstrong Grove Cemetery at Armstrong. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Evans was born at Dolliver Jan. 29, 1912, the daughter of Hiram and Rosa L. (Hagebock) Griese. She received her education in the Dolliver school and was married to Raymond M. Evans Feb. 19, 1930, at Fairmont, Mn.

Mrs. Evans lived most of her life in Estherville. She was employed by Sioux Valley Fish Line Co., and as a veterinary assistant for Drs. Bunge and DeVall. She was later a desk clerk at the Boss Hotel, and had been a resident at the Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake the past year.

She was a member of the Estherville VFW Auxiliary, and of the Military Order of Cooties.

Survivors include two brothers, Martin Griese of Florence, Ore., and Raymond Griese of Goodland, Minn., and four sisters: Mrs. Einer (Ina) Hansen of Spirit Lake, Mrs. Byron (Minnie) Tirevold of Chokio, Minn., Mrs. Walt (Viola) Hansen of Ricevile, and Mrs. Pat (Laura) Kenney of Spirit Lake.

Her parents, husband and two sisters preceded her in death. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 21, 1987)
